Syncro racking in a Crafter L3 H3 for plumbers and electricians
I’ve just bought a new van. Why should I spend more money on racking?
It’s a fair question, but the answer is simple. A professionally equipped van helps you work far more efficiently. Every tool has its own place, all your spare parts are clearly visible, and all your cargo is properly secured and safe. This means you don’t waste precious time searching for a spanner or a spare part, and you don’t have to empty half the van before you find what you need. Even when you have to work in a hurry, you always know where things are.
A tidier van is a safer van too. Heavy items like gas cylinders are securely held, equipment does not move around when you are travelling, and access to the back of your van is always easy. At the end of the day, the benefits are clear: less stress, less need to improvise and more time spent working profitably. For anybody who installs and services electrical or plumbing systems, a Syncro van makes all the difference, day after day.
A large van for complex needs: a Crafter for plumbing and electrical technicians
The van we are describing today is a Volkswagen Crafter L3 H3 owned by a company that installs and maintains electrical and plumbing systems.
In accordance with the customer's requests, the Syncro team designed a racking system covering both side walls. The bulkhead was set aside for cargo retaining accessories to ensure the safe transport of bulky items of different shapes and sizes.

The Crafter’s liners: it’s always best to have protection between the bodywork and the racking!
When you ask Syncro to fit out your van, you have complete freedom to choose what racking and accessories you want. There’s no obligation when it comes to interior liners either, but Syncro strongly recommends at least a minimum of protection since liners REALLY DO EXTEND YOUR VAN’S LIFE!
In this VW Crafter the floor is covered with a marble-look plywood floor liner complete with stainless-steel edge protectors and anchor ring cups. The bulkhead is covered in the same material while the side walls are protected by panels of lightweight honeycomb polypropylene.

Plenty of everything: a great mobile warehouse on the left of the Crafter
On the left of this plumbing and electrical service’s Crafter Syncro has installed a combination of racking elements designed to form a well stocked and perfectly organised travelling warehouse. The wall is configured as follows:
- two floor-level compartments, the rearmost enclosed by a patented lift-and-rotate door and the forward one equipped with a strap-type case transport kit
- four case trays, each containing one metal case for small parts and materials
- seven metal drawers with non-slip mats and internal space dividers
- five configurable shelves of different sizes, again with internal space dividers
- a plain shelf enclosed by a lift-up door
- a secure locker
- a waste bin that tilts outwards to open and can be removed easily for emptying
- a full-length top tray for long items, with an access door at the rear
Large compartments for a more flexible use of space on the right of the Crafter
The right wall of the Crafter provides large compartments for maximum versatility:
- a floor-level compartment with a lift-and-rotate door over the wheel arch
- an open shelf with a marble-look plywood base and lashing straps at the back
- an open shelf with a hook and strap lashing system at the front
- two configurable shelves with non-slip mats and space dividers
Accessories for every need: with Syncro, every little details adds to versatility
The functionality of your van depends not just on its racking but on its accessories and their location. This Crafter for an electrical and plumbing company is particularly well equipped, especially when it comes to cargo retaining accessories.
In particular you can see: two milled bars with hooks and straps installed in parallel on the bulkhead.
The forward side panel of the right-side racking is fitted with a large paper roll holder and a silicone cartridge rack with holes for the nozzles too. The rear-facing side panel is equipped with a bar rack with a metal flange and strap and a spray can rack.
Two heavy duty rails with lashing straps have been installed on the rear-facing side panel of the left-side racking.
