ROOF RACKS FOR VANS

Syncro System van roof racks are available in various configurations, depending on transport needs and vehicle type. The structure is made up of:

• anodised aluminium cross bars, lightweight and corrosion-resistant, ensuring excellent load-bearing capacity even with heavy loads;
• side fences to keep the load in place while driving;
• rear rollers that make loading and unloading easier.

The noise generated by roof racks and roof bars is caused by a phenomenon known as "Karman vortex streets". In simple terms, a series of noisy vortices forms when airflow strikes the first cross bar. Now, Syncro engineers have designed the new ULTRASILENT profile for application under the first cross bar to eliminate this annoying noise. By breaking up the air flow that passes between the cross bar and the van roof, the new profile prevents the formation of vortices and dramatically reduces roof rack noise. Even before this latest innovation, Syncro roof racks were particularly silent thanks to their specially shaped aluminium cross bars. Now, with the new Ultrasilent ribbed profile in place, noise is slashed by an additional 50%, making your van superbly silent even at motorway speeds and above. These new noise-reducing profiles are extremely light, do not take up useful load space and do not interfere with the use of ropes or straps to secure cargo.

Aluminium cross bars with a soft rubber top profile, stainless steel fittings, load stops and fasteners are the basic components of the Syncro van roof transport system. The cross bars, with their protective rubber top profile, fit across the van’s roof. The front bar is also equipped with an Ultrasilent noise-reducing profile on its underside. Cross bars are available with or without stainless-steel load stops.

Syncro System roof racks consist of a number of cross bars with rubber top profiles and two side fences to stop cargo sliding sideways off the roof. At the back, over the van’s rear doors, roof racks also feature a roller for easy loading and unloading. The front cross bar is equipped with an Ultrasilent profile.

Syncro aluminium pipe carriers integrate perfectly with the Syncro modular roof rack system. They can be fitted to roof bars, roof racks and in conjunction with ladder racks, in any position and on any make and model of van. As with all Syncro System van racking products, pipe carriers represent a future-proof investment. You can move them easily from one van to another when needed. They are made from aluminium with a tough, oven-hardened paint finish for excellent weather resistance. They come with two lockable access doors for maximum security on the road. The standard length is 3000 mm.

The Syncro catalogue also includes stainless-steel carriers for transporting lengths of pipe, cable channel, rods and other long items. These pipe carriers have a door at the rear. They can be used with all type of Syncro roof cargo systems: roof bars, roof racks and ladder racks.

These ladders, for installation on the rear door, provide safe and easy access to the roof of your vehicle. They are made from lightweight and weatherproof aluminium and can be installed without drilling the bodywork Ladders and fittings are available for most medium and large vans.

The new Rolitop telescopic ladder is easy to fit and remove. It attaches to the loading roller at the rear of your roof rack or to the one of the side fences and permits quick and super-safe access to material and equipment on your van’s roof. The ladder is made from aluminium and has a bracket with attachment points at the top. When not in use it can be stowed in the cargo compartment and secured with a universal clamp or hook and strap lashing system. The Rolitop ladder comes in four different sizes. It is quick and easy to use, provides safe access from the ground to the roof of the van and occupies very little space when retracted.

The BELTPRO strap with tensioner lets you secure material on your van’s roof rack in next to no time. It comes complete with mounting brackets that attach neatly to the side fences of Syncro roof racks. The BeltPro tensioner then slides easily to the most suitable position. The accessory extends for no more than 25 cm outside the side fence, is quick and easy to install and guarantees excellent load stability on the road. The strap extends to a maximum of 280 cm and has a breaking strain of 50 kg.
