RACKING FOR DROPSIDE TRUCKS AND PICK-UPS

Dropside trucks and pick-ups have a load area that is very different from that of a panel van: the load bed is exposed to rain and theft or, on pick-ups with a hard top, it is low and deep, hard to reach without climbing aboard. Racking for dropside trucks and pick-ups therefore has to protect equipment and bring it within easy reach.

The Isuzu D-Max pick-up of a multi-utility company, used to maintain the water network, is organised in layers. A pick-up drawer unit with a single long metal drawer, divided into compartments and lockable, sits on the resin-coated marine plywood floor; above it there is a second drawer unit with two long drawers and a slide with a resin-coated marine plywood top, hooks and straps, for loading boards and long materials.

Everything pulls out from the rear, so technicians can reach the load without bending down or climbing into the load bed. The vehicle is completed by Airline tracks for straps, a SyncroBlock bar, a vice on the tailgate, a portable compressor and a multi-socket outlet connected to an inverter.

This electrician's Ford Ranger with hard top has a closed, low and long load bed, which can be reached through two side hatches and the rear door. Syncro System fitted it out to measure: on both walls there are case trays with a patented mechanism, floor-level compartments with drop-down doors and shelves with containers, some of which can also be reached from outside through the side hatches.

On the left there is also a pull-out vice holder with a metal vice and a spray can holder. The resin-coated marine plywood floor has a stainless steel rear edge, and a SyncroBlock bar with hooks and straps on the bulkhead holds bulkier loads in place.
