VAN RACKING FOR A PAINTER AND DECORATOR

Many of the people who use Syncro System van racking work on finishing and fitting out buildings. Syncro customers therefore include plumbers, electricians, building services engineers, window and cladding fitters, and also decorators and painters.

The pictures show how we fitted out this Mercedes Vito for a painter and decorator.

• The first step was to install all the interior protection for vans, so that the material carried in the load compartment cannot hit the bodywork, with the risk of damage, dents and rust. We therefore fitted our pre-painted sheet metal panels to the right and left sides of the load compartment and to the doors, including the upper part of the rear doors.
• The floor lining at the bottom of the load compartment is 12 mm resin-coated marine plywood, with the special scratch-resistant, non-slip resin finish.

The steel edging fitted at the van doors protects the wood from the knocks that can happen while loading and unloading.

• The bulkhead between the Vito’s load compartment and the cab is made from the same material as the floor, strong and light 12 mm plywood. Even in a serious impact, the user can be sure the bodywork will not be damaged.
• The shelving was fitted on the right, above the wheel arch. As the customer needed the load floor to stay completely clear, in the part resting on the floor we used two 16 cm side panels, practically the same width as the wheel arch.
• The racking includes four large PROFESSIONAL BOX containers in polypropylene with steel handles, ideal for carrying tools, brushes, sealant, screws and everything a decorator or painter needs on site. The containers can easily be taken out and used where needed, but material can also be picked up without removing them from their support.
• Then there are two drawer units for vans with six roomy steel drawers, complete with non-slip matting and aluminium dividers.

The telescopic ball-bearing runners, rated at 60 kg, let each drawer open fully for the best possible access to the contents.

• Above the drawer units there is a shelf for vans, complete with matting and dividers.
• We then stowed and properly secured the wooden step ladder on the left-hand side, using the Syncro system of hooks and straps for vans, which makes it easy and safe to secure any load.
• On the bulkhead we fitted an aluminium bar with straps, to secure the load with maximum flexibility according to the customer’s needs.
• An 18 W fluorescent lamp fitted high up gives powerful, pleasant lighting in the Vito’s load compartment.

Thanks to the modular design of the Syncro system we prepared the racking so as to leave practically the whole load floor clear.

On top of that we also fitted a Syncro roof rack in steel and aluminium, extremely strong and light. Remember that all Syncro ladder racks, roof bars and roof racks have the Ultrasilent aerodynamic profile, which makes them far quieter than the products normally on the market.

The model fitted on the Vito comes complete with aluminium side rails and a rear roller, to make loading easier and avoid damage to the bodywork.
