A JUMPER L3 H2 FITTED OUT AS A MOBILE SHOWROOM BY SYNCRO SYSTEM
A showroom for technical products in a Jumper
How a bright idea can transform your van
Sometimes it only takes one little detail to transform a van’s functionality: an accessory in the right position, cleverly chosen material, or a simple but effective solution. That little detail can turn a van from a simple means of transport into a professional partner capable of meeting the daily needs of its user.
This was the approach adopted when designing the tailor-made racking solution for the Citroën Jumper L3 H2 seen on this page. The van has been transformed into a mobile showroom for technical products for the construction, hardware and door and window sectors. The van’s owner wanted to be able to interact with customers in the van just as he would in his brick and mortar store, to display a wide range of tools and to allow potential customers to handle and try them. Let’s take a look at the little detail that made all this possible!
Perforated liners: a simple idea for an extraordinary solution
The detail that transformed this Jumper was conceived in the first phase of the installation: a particular type of liners.
The floor is protected by a plywood floor liner with a marble-look surface, which provides excellent support for heavy loads and a perfect grip even in wet conditions.
The walls and doors, however, are protected by PERFORATED lining panels, galvanised and painted in an attractive grey. This little detail makes all the difference! Door and wall liners are normally made of plain sheet metal, but these have equally spaced square holes, just like racking side panels or the tool rack panels that some customers install in work areas.
The presence of these holes over a vast area, including the entire right-hand wall apart from the bench-height cabinets, all free sections of the left-hand wall and even both the rear doors, has transformed the van into a mobile hardware store and showroom. All these perforated lining panels can be fitted with hooks, hangers and other retaining accessories to carry and display all kinds of tools.
Other lining solutions for the Jumper
A work area for testing tools on the left of the van
In any good hardware store, there is always an area where you can try out tools and utensils for yourself.
This Jumper L3 H2 has a marble-look plywood workbench on the left wall, integrated in a racking system made up of:
- at the bottom, a floor-level compartment with a lift-up door, and eight metal drawers with non-slip mats and internal space dividers above it
- three small configurable shelves in a mid-height column
- at the top, a shelf enclosed by a top-pivot door
- a fold-away vice bench complete with metal vice
The racking occupies only half the space available on the left wall. The remaining area is characterised by a large display area made from perforated panelling.
Plenty of cargo space on the right wall of the Jumper
This side too is dominated by the presence of perforated sheet metal lining panels, adding further possibilities for tool display.
The racking here is designed to accommodate larger products. The enclosed compartment around the wheel arch is combined with a set of four metal drawers and covered by a marble-look plywood shelf that serves as a large, strong support surface. A Syncroblock bar with hooks and straps is installed on the wall behind to ensure secure transport.
A range of accessories in the Jumper showroom
The showroom installed in this Jumper would not be complete without several essential van accessories:
- two Syncroblock bars with sliding attachments and lashing straps, one on the right-hand wall, one on the bulkhead
- four LED tube lights under the roof and a fifth over the work area
- a handwash kit comprising a water tank with tap and a soap dispenser on the left rear door, and a paper roll holder on the side of the racking in the work area
