A FORD CONNECT WITH RACKING FOR A PLUMBER
A plumber’s Connect L2 H1 transformed by Syncro
What’s so special about a simple drawer?
Do you think your van is in a mess because you have too much stuff to carry around? This is often not the real problem. The cause generally lies in the way you use available space and the solution to the problem is quite simple: install a fully customised racking system in which everything has its place. The result is no more untidy piles of stuff and no more tools or parts lost or forgotten in a hidden corner!
Every single piece of Syncro racking is made to withstand intensive use and designed to help you keep everything in order in a highly functional layout.
Take the humble drawer for example. Drawers can be opened and closed dozens of times a day, are continuously filled and emptied and sometimes have to carry quite heavy items. This means nothing should be left to chance. Syncro drawers slide on ball-bearing runners to ensure smooth action and unrestricted access to contents. A non-slip mat in the bottom stops the contents sliding around and internal space dividers with anti-vibration fixing systems can be added to optimise tidiness without the risk of rattles when the van is travelling. Syncro engineers think of every little detail!
A Ford Connect L2 H1 for a plumbing service
The photos on this page illustrate a Ford Connect L2 H1 owned by a company that provides a plumbing service. The layout is classic. There is racking on both sides and a cargo lashing system on the bulkhead. The central corridor has been left clear so that cargo can be loaded from the rear or side doors.
The floor is protected by a plywood floor liner with a non-slip surface while the walls are lined with galvanised and painted panels finished in an attractive grey.

Racking on one, two or three of the Connect’s walls
The racking on the left of the Ford Connect
The racking on the left of this Connect consists of:
- two open floor-level compartments, each fitted with hook and strap lashing systems
- four metal drawers with non-slip bottom mats and internal space dividers
- three configurable shelves, including one at the top of the column, all with bottom mats and space dividers
Transparent containers on the right of the Connect
On the right of the plumber’s Connect, space is limited by the side door. The remaining wall is completely occupied by MultiBox cabinets containing 23 pull-out transparent containers. Transparent containers offer a significant advantage to the van user: because contents are always easily visible, there is less risk of running out of supplies and finding things requires significantly less time.
On this side too, the floor-level compartment is open and equipped with a hook and strap lashing system at the front.
Indispensable accessories for your van
Even in a compact van like this Connect, certain accessories are indispensable. This particular van is equipped with a first aid kit and a paper roll holder on the side panel of the left racking, LED tube lights under the roof and, last but not least, a Syncroblock bar with lashing strap on the bulkhead. The last-mentioned accessory transforms a simple wall into a space where loads of different shape and size can be safely stowed.
Other Syncro System accessories can be added to the Connect at a later date. There is still plenty of space available, on the perforated side panels, the bulkhead, the doors and even at the front of the racking.
