PROTECTING THE INTERIOR OF THE VOLKSWAGEN CRAFTER

For even the toughest applications: aluminium treadplate floor and wall liners for the Volkswagen Crafter

THE CRAFTER, THE BIG VAN FROM VOLKSWAGEN

Chronologically speaking, Volkswagen’s Crafter is the most recent entry to the large van segment. The current version of the Crafter exploits all the latest engineering solutions to create a van that is robust, versatile, reliable and pleasant to drive. Small wonder, therefore, that the Crafter is winning an important slice of the market.

Syncro System was quick to introduce a complete range of solutions for customers using the Crafter to carry goods, as mobile workshops, or for both purposes together. Syncro’s offering for the Crafter includes floor liners, wall panels, bulkhead liners, bumper foot plates, wheel arch covers and even ceiling liners. As with all vans, the Crafter’s load compartment comes with very little effective protection against damage by falling and moving cargo. And in time, dents caused in this way can lead to rust, perforation and costly repairs. As this page shows, Syncro supplies interior floor and wall liners for the most challenging applications. The Syncro team protected the floor of this particular van with a double-layer liner: plywood underneath and 2 + 1.8 mm thick peraluman aluminium treadplate on top – in effect two liners, combined to withstand even the heaviest loads. Laser-cut panels, also made from aluminium treadplate, were installed to protect the van’s walls and doors. Syncro’s laser cutting technology produces perfectly formed lining panels that match the shape of the Crafter’s interior exactly. Finally, the ceiling of the van was lined with galvanised and painted steel panels, also shaped by laser. The Crafter has a large plastic bumper at the back, and this too was protected by a robust footplate in peraluman aluminium treadplate, easily visible in the photos on this page. Mission accomplished for the Syncro team! The operator of this Crafter can use his van confidently for years to come without risking damage to the bodywork!
