AN IVECO DAILY L3 H2 FOR A DOOR AND WINDOW SERVICE
A racking solution in a Daily for a door and window business
Transporting doors and windows in your van: custom solutions by Syncro
Door and window fitters need their vans to be capable of carrying not just the tools and small parts required for installations but frames and glass panels too. These two requirements are completely different and demand a fully customised solution!
In particular, the door and window fitter needs the following:
- a dedicated framework to avoid damage, flexing and breakage when transporting doors and windows
- a well-organised set of tools and small parts for installation work, so that everything is always at hand, saving time on site
- adequate protection for the van’s interior to preserve the bodywork, given the frequent need to carry large, heavy loads – the only way to avoid dents, scratches and worse
- racking positioned in such a way as to ensure easy access through all the doors along with ease of movement inside the van
An Iveco Daily L3 H2 with Syncro racking for a door and window fitter
This racking system in an Iveco Daily L3 H2 is a good example of a customised Syncro solution for a door and window fitter.
The whole of the left side of the van is configured as storage. Open and enclosed compartments take up almost all the available space.
The right side, on the other hand, is reserved for the transport of the doors and windows themselves, and is equipped with everything necessary to hold them steady while the van is moving, ensuring that everything reaches its destination intact.
The bulkhead is completely free and is equipped only with cargo retaining accessories.

Liners are ESSENTIAL in a door and window fitter’s van
Syncro racking technicians always recommend the installation of interior liners, for many reasons that you can find listed here. In the case of door and window fitters, this recommendation becomes almost an obligation unless you want to end up at a body repair shop very quickly indeed. If you carry heavy, bulky objects on a regular basis, there is always a real risk of damage to the floor and walls of your van.
The floor of this Daily L3 H2 is protected by a marble-look plywood floor liner. Stainless steel profiles protect the edges of the panels at all the doors, and recessed cups of the same material permit easy access to the van’s original anchor rings. The doors and walls of the van are lined with panels of grey, galvanised and painted steel sheet. The bulkhead is protected by specially shaped marble-look plywood panels.

The mobile warehouse on the left of the Daily
All the open and enclosed elements that serve as a warehouse for working on the site are located on the left of this door and window fitter’s Daily.
- The floor-level compartment over the wheel arch is partly enclosed by a patented lift-and-rotate door.
- The one at the front of the van is equipped with a strap-type case transport kit, as is the open shelf compartment directly above it.
- The two metal drawers are fitted with non-slip mats and internal space dividers.
- Five large shelves with space dividers and raised back panels provide ample storage space for miscellaneous consumables and tools.
- The racking is completed at the top by a full-length tray with a door at the rear – the ideal solution for carrying long objects.
A paper roll holder is fixed to the rear-facing side panel, providing the bare necessities for cleaning hands and tools.
To make the van more versatile and to accommodate unusual loads, the front flanges of the racking side panels are equipped with rectangular section, Airline profile, aluminium rails with metal rings for lashing cargo.
The right side: plenty of space for doors and windows!
The right of the van is dedicated mainly to the transport of doors and windows. Apart from a Syncroblock bar with cable holders at the top, the wall has been left completely free.
Milled cargo bars for separating and securing frames and panes of glass are currently installed near the right wall but can easily be moved as needed.
These vertically mounted bars are fixed at the top and bottom to rectangular-section, Airline profile, aluminium rails recessed into the roof cross members and floor liner respectively.
Syncro cargo bars can easily be moved to the most appropriate position and even fixed one to another to form a sort of cage. The narrow sides of each bar are coated with rubber to avoid scratching delicate cargo.
The van’s bulkhead is simply equipped with a Syncroblock bar with movable fittings and a lashing strap. In this way, the aim of having plenty of room for manoeuvre near the sliding side door and rear doors is fully achieved!
Last but not least, Syncro System has installed four 45° LED tube lights under the roof to ensure bright and even illumination of the vehicle’s loadspace.
