A VW ID. BUZZ FOR AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS FIRM
Syncro racking in an electrical firm’s ID. Buzz
Increasing space the Syncro System way
Look at a compact van like the Volkswagen ID. Buzz from the outside and it’s only natural to wonder how all the material needed by an electrical systems company can fit inside. In the smallest variant, the L1 H1, load volume does not even reach 4 cubic metres. Yet, many professionals choose this van precisely because it is so compact and agile in the city, consumes very little and is easy to park. But the question remains: what if there’s not enough room inside?
Syncro responds to this dilemma with tailor-made racking solutions that can transform even the smallest van into a mobile workshop that is perfectly tailored to the needs of its owner. What’s the secret? Think in three dimensions and use every inch of available space. Here are a few simple strategies:
- Look up and install wall-mounted cabinets that leave plenty of unobstructed floor space for large loads.
- Reduce the depth of racking to maintain a wide central corridor while still providing plenty of containers for small spares, parts and tools.
- Install underfloor drawers to create a raised floor with hidden space underneath.
- Choose the right set of accessories to hold cargo in place without adding too much weight or volume.
- Add a roof rack to increase cargo capacity and free up space inside, all in complete safety.
Racking in an electrical firm’s VW ID. Buzz L1 H1
On this page we take a look at the racking system designed by Syncro System for an ID. Buzz L1 H1 owned by a company that installs and services electrical and security systems.
This compact, full electric van from Volkswagen has been completely transformed by Syncro’s experts. A full-height column of racking has been installed on the left along with space-saving cabinets on the right, and a range of accessories on the doors, walls and racking side panels. The addition of a roof transport system allows long items of cargo to be carried without cluttering up the interior of the van. The van came into Syncro’s workshop with a floor liner already installed by the manufacturer. Syncro added the galvanised and painted panels seen on the doors.
Other racking solutions for the ID. Buzz
Everything necessary on the left of the ID. Buzz
The left of this electrical firm’s ID. Buzz is completely occupied by racking. Moving from the floor up, we can see:
- a floor-level compartment partially enclosed by a lift-and-rotate door
- a floor-level case compartment with a lashing strap and end plate for supporting the first case
- two pull-out trays for metal cases
- two metal drawers with non-slip mats and internal space dividers
- a configurable shelf, inside which you can see a socket strip connected to the vehicle’s battery via a dedicated wiring system
- Multibox cabinets containing eight pull-out transparent containers
- a full-length top tray for long items, with an access door at the rear
- on the racking side panel, a silicone cartridge rack with nine holes for tubes and nozzles and, at floor level, a fire extinguisher bracket
- on the swing door, a paper roll holder and a handwash kit with water tank and tap secured to a dedicated frame by means of a strap
Saving space without reducing functionality
The right wall has been left completely free at floor level, but accessories and wall-mounted cabinets have been installed higher up. You can see an Airline profile rail half way up the wall, a first aid case and, at the top, suspended cabinets containing six tilting and fully removable transparent containers.
The bulkhead has also been left substantially free, with the exception of a Syncroblock bar and cable holder at the top.
This type of configuration facilitates access to and movement inside the van while still allowing bulky loads to be loaded and unloaded through either the rear doors or the side door.
What about the roof? A great way to free up space inside
When space inside your van is limited, you have to think OUTSIDE THE BOX! The owner of this van asked us to fit a roof transport system.
Syncro therefore installed a roof rack with cross bars, side fences and an Ultrasilent profile to reduce noise and vibration. On this rack we then installed a square-section pipe carrier with a rear flap.
