A MASTER FOR BUILDING REFURBISHMENT
A Renault Master with Syncro racking for refurbishing buildings
Making strategic use of your van’s height
When you buy a medium or large van, there is an inevitable temptation to overdo things and fill every inch of space with racking and accessories in the hope of finally achieving perfect order and having all your equipment in place.
This approach does not always work, however. Sometimes it may be more effective to adopt a different approach and use only a part of the wall space available for racking, leaving the rest free.
The van seen here is a Renault Master L2 H2 owned by a firm that specialises in building refurbishment. Following the advice proffered by Syncro, its owner opted for the strategic solution of restricting racking to the bottom section of the walls.
With the addition of suitable cargo retaining accessories, the resulting configuration is ideal for transporting sacks, plasterboard, cables, pipes and other awkward items. The absence of obstacles ensures that there is always enough free space to load all kins of material without risk.

Finding the right combination to achieve perfect balance
For Syncro System, there is no standard solution: every vehicle is a blank canvas. Here are some of the many ways to exploit space:
- Full-height racking on all three walls: maximum storage capacity for small and medium sized items.
- Racking on just one wall, with accessories or nothing on the others: maximum freedom of movement and flexibility in loading even bulky goods and equipment.
- One of the infinite number of combinations possible between the two above solutions: racking on two walls, accessories on the third, racking and accessories on all three surfaces... and so on!
In the case of this Master, the smart hybrid solution chosen maximises walking and storage space in the van, without giving up on tidiness.
Liners are the shield that saves your bodywork
We never tire of saying this: without adequate protection, your van will age quickly. In this Master, the Syncro team complemented the floor liner already installed with panels of lightweight but tough honeycomb polypropylene on the doors and walls. The wheel arches, which are particularly exposed to damage when material is carried on the floor, were protected by robust liners made from marble-look plywood and galvanised steel. Once properly lined, the van was ready to be fitted out… and to cope with years of hard work in the construction industry!

The Master’s left wall: flexible storage and essential accessories
The racking on the left of this Master is limited but functional. On this side of the van we can see:
- A single column of racking that occupies only half the wall in both length and height. This is located over the wheel arch and consists of three configurable shelves with non-slip mats and internal space dividers. The rear-facing side panel is equipped with a fire extinguisher bracket, a paper roll holder and a silicone tube rack with holes for the nozzles.
- A Syncroblock bar has been installed along the full length of the wall, at the top, and equipped with eight adjustable, telescopic hooks.
- The forward section of wall is equipped with two Syncroblock bars installed in parallel, each with a hook and strap lashing system.
The right wall: maximum freedom of movement
On the right wall, priority has been given to cargo. The wall has been fitted with three Syncroblock bars arranged at equal intervals. Two of these are equipped with hook and strap lashing systems and one with plastic hooks for tools.
How to turn the bulkhead into the beating heart of your van
The bulkhead of this Master for a refurbishment firm serves as a warehouse for spares, small parts, accessories and consumables.
The area houses two columns of racking: one on the inside, with removable containers facing the central corridor, and a smaller one facing outwards through the sliding door.
The inside column
This consists of two specially adapted open shelves, each with four BOC31 removable plastic containers and two more shelves with APC containers (eight small and four large). The column is closed at the top by a shelf.
The outside column
This column contains four metal drawers and four pull-out trays for metal cases. Both the drawers and the trays slide on ball-bearing runners and extend fully to facilitate access to items at the back. A marble-look plywood panel at the top of the column serves as a work surface for a computer or for minor maintenance and repair jobs.
