A mobile workshop in a Master L3 H2 for an industrial movement company
Syncro gives you the freedom to organise your van exactly as you want
The Syncro racking system offers total flexibility. Each item of racking can be positioned exactly where you want, customised and combined with other elements.
The only limitations are common sense, the size of the van, and the functionality required from each item of racking. Obviously, if your van’s body is only 1.80 metres high, you won’t be able to install racking any taller than this. Likewise, if you want to use a shelf to transport bulky items, you can’t place other racking elements immediately over it! One rule in particular must always be respected when designing racking systems: cargo must be safe and secure at all times!
Syncro’s racking experts are specially trained to optimise the space in your van bearing everything in mind – your personal requirements for a start, followed by the shape and size of the vehicle and the safety of road users.
A practical example: how space is organised in this Renault Master
The photos described here illustrate a Renault Master L3 H2 owned by a company that designs and constructs special materials handling machines, such as forklifts, pallet trucks and lifts.
The customer asked us to provide the following areas:
- a work area like those back at the factory
- a warehouse area with large containers for tools, hydraulic components and spare parts
- a second storage area with small containers for keeping small parts in perfect order
In this configuration, designed and installed by Syncro, the work area is located on the left of the van, drawer and shelf storage partly on the left wall and partly on the bulkhead, and small parts storage on the right.
Let’s take a closer look!
Other racking solutions for the Master
The basics: liners for the Master
In any list of “must-haves” for a good mobile workshop, liners are always at the top! The reason is simple. Without proper interior protection, your van will age rapidly and soon require bodywork repairs that could easily be avoided or delayed.
This Renault Master is fitted with a marble-look plywood floor liner and polypropylene door and wall panels.
The Syncro catalogue includes a wide range of lining materials, so the choice depends mainly on your priorities and partly on appearance too.

The work area: working in your van can be easy!
The left of this Master L3 H2 for servicing industrial forklifts and lifting equipment houses the workshop area.
This extends for about half of the wall and consists of:
- a marble-look plywood work bench, complete with a raised rear edge to stop things falling down behind the racking
- a fold-away bench with vice and integrated support, which provides an additional work surface and allows work to be carried out from the ground without climbing into the van
- an LED tube light fixed to the underside of the overhead shelf, for ensuring a properly lit work area
- a suspended shelf for keeping tools and materials within easy reach of the bench
- eight metal drawers under the bench itself
- a floor-level compartment with a patented door that opens to provide unrestricted access
Storage for tools and materials: how to use van space creatively
Tool and material storage is distributed around the interior of this Master. The items most frequently needed in the works area can be stored in the drawers or shelf accessible directly from the bench. Other items can be stored on a total of six suspended shelves with non-slip mats and internal space dividers at the front of the left wall and on the bulkhead.
This racking occupies only the top half the wall and bulkhead for two main reasons:
1. First of all, ergonomics, because reaching objects at this height is much more convenient than having to bend down to the floor.
2. Secondly, and just as importantly, because the space at floor level remains free for storing bulky cargo loaded through the side door. To respect road safety criteria, cargo stowed in this area should be secured by hooks and straps.
An entire wall for small parts: order is the watchword
The racking on the right of this Master is a perfect example of how you can achieve maximum order with a minimum footprint.
From just above the wheel arch to only a few centimetres from the roof, the entire wall is occupied by Multibox cabinets containing a total of 56 transparent containers, all of the tilting and removable type, in three different sizes.
This racking protrudes from the wall no further than the wheel arch, leaving ample room in the centre of the van for working at the bench and manoeuvring bulky cargo.
Transparency is an added value, because contents are visible at all times without having to open the containers. This saves users a great deal of time, especially when a large quantity of different nuts, bolts, washers and fuses is needed, as is often the case when servicing machinery.
What if something’s forgotten? There’s always time to add to the configuration
If you can’t think of everything at the design stage, don’t worry! Thanks to the vast experience of our installers and the flexibility of Syncro racking, you can always move things around or add more racking and accessories at a later date.
