RACKING IN A DAILY OPERATED BY REFRIGERATION TECHNICIANS

Production of the Daily began back in 1978. Ever since, the van has stood out from the competition for its robustness, largely due to the strong chassis underneath the bodywork. The latest Daily comes in four lengths and three heights, and all variants boast a generous, square section load compartment that is ideal for installing Syncro System racking.

The racking system illustrated in these photos was requested by a company that specialises in refrigeration systems. 

The first step in the installation process was to safeguard the van’s bodywork with protective linings. In this particular case, lining panels were fitted to the doors and sides of the Daily’s load compartment to protect the body against damage caused by cargo sliding around inside. The floor was also covered with a floor liner in resonated plywood with a special non-slip surface. In addition to protecting the original floor, this liner also provides a perfectly flat and rigid surface on which to install Syncro System racking.

The racking on the left side wall stands on two wheel arch cabinets. These cabinets serve various purposes: they can protect the wheel arch as such, create a useful space for storing materials and equipment, and act as a robust base for shelves and trays installed above. The shelves here come complete with non-slip mats and dividers to keep everything in place and within reach. In the centre of the left side racking is a useful space for stowing cargo. A bar and strap lashing system is provided to stop cargo moving around while the van is on the move. The left side racking is completed by a top tray that exploits the complete length of the load compartment and is ideal for the safe and orderly transport of long items like pipes.

The base of the right side racking is also formed by a wheel arch cabinet. This supports a pull-out vice support and a drawer cabinet with 3 drawers, all fitted with non-slip mats to stop the contents sliding around, as well as dividers to arrange the space and keep everything in place. Further up are 4 trays of different depth and length. These clearly demonstrate the modular design of Syncro System racking and show how it can satisfy the needs of any customer by fully exploiting the space inside any van. As you can see, the trays gradually reduce in depth as the van walls slope inwards towards the top of the body. This allows the racking to follow the shape of the load compartment and use space in the most intelligent way possible. In this particular installation, the front of the load compartment has been protected with a bulkhead liner and this has been used to fit a rail and strap lashing system, another highly practical solution for securing cargo.

The Syncro System product range includes a large number of accessories to complete your racking. The load compartment of this van has been fitted with lighting in the form of two LED ceiling lamps. A practical sheet steel paper roll holder and a first aid kit have been added at the rear of the left cabinets. On the right we can see a universal rack and a strap above it for securing longer objects.
