The aluminium racking system illustrated on this page, installed in a plumber’s Maxus Deliver 7 by Syncro’s Villorba dealership, is one of the first made entirely of this new light alloy.
The customer explicitly asked us to keep down the weight of the racking in order to maximise the van’s useful payload. This objective was achieved by combining the classic solution of limiting racking to just one wall with the innovative choice of a new, lightweight material.
The van’s left wall is equipped with a full-height racking system for storing the plumber’s tools and small parts, while the rest of the floor space remains free for transporting boilers, pipes and other bulky items.
Plumbers and electricians always need plenty of storage to carry all the spares, small parts and tools they need without cluttering up the floor.
In this case, Syncro’s racking experts solved the problem by proposing aluminium racking that integrates the demands of lightness and solidity with those of orderly storage.

Liners before racking: a must for aluminium too
Syncro’s transformation of the cargo compartment in this Maxus Deliver 7 began with protection of the original bodywork. The daily work of a plumber involves the continuous handling of heavy equipment and tools, which can easily lead to dents and scratches on the walls, doors and floor.
To keep this van in tip-top condition for years to come, the Syncro team installed:
- a marine plywood floor liner with a marble-look finish to protect the floor against wear and damage and to provide excellent grip too, greatly improving safety for the operator
- anodised aluminium panels on the walls and doors
High-capacity, all-aluminium storage in the Maxus Deliver 7
Only the left side of this plumber’s Maxus Deliver 7 has been equipped with racking. The choice of aluminium parts ensures good mechanical strength while significantly reducing the weight of the complete system in favour of greater payload.
The system is arranged into two adjacent columns made up of different storage elements:
- A floor-level compartment with a lift-and-rotate door over the wheel arch turns this awkward area into useful storage for materials.
- A second floor-level compartment is equipped with a strap-type case transport kit to carry cases of various shapes and sizes.
- Five metal drawers and five pull-out case trays that extend on high-load ball-bearing runners accommodate miscellaneous items and Syncro metal tool cases respectively.
- Four configurable shelves with non-slip mats and movable space dividers provide orderly and clearly visible accommodation for fittings, valves and other frequently used spares and parts.
- A Multibox cabinet at the top of the racking contains 12 pull-out transparent containers, enabling the plumber to keep an eye on stock and what items need replenishing.
The right of the van has intentionally been left free to preserve a broad passageway for handling and stowing pallets or large items of equipment.

In this Maxus Deliver 7, a paper roll holder and a bar rack with a metal flange and lashing strap have been added to the rear-facing side panel of the racking, while a holder has been installed at the top of the bulkhead to transport electrical cables or hoses without taking up space on the floor.
