Today, the van is no longer just a means of transport: with a Syncro racking solution it becomes a mobile warehouse and workshop that accompanies you on the road and at work. The care with which you equip your van and ensure that everything is to hand when needed also reflects your professionalism and the way your approach your work.

On this page you can see a Mercedes Sprinter L2 H2 owned by a company that services and repairs waste treatment systems.

Whenever a van is used to provide technical assistance, it has to perform two essential roles: it must serve as a parts warehouse and a workshop where minor repairs can be carried out without having to return to base. This is the principle behind the racking system installed in this Sprinter. Let’s take a closer look.

Other racking solutions for the Sprinter

Liners for the Sprinter: smart protection

A well-equipped van cannot do without proper bodywork protection. Liners not only preserve the thin sheet metal of the cargo compartment from dents and scratches but also serve as support for racking, avoiding the need to drill the original bodywork.

This Sprinter is equipped with a marble-look plywood floor liner with stainless-steel cups at the original anchor rings and protective profiles, also in stainless steel, at the rear and side doors to prevent the ingress of dirt and water.

The Syncro team has lined the walls of the van with panels of galvanised, grey-painted steel.

With protection like this, your van lasts far longer and becomes easier to use too: protecting the interior avoids unnecessary damage and costly trips to the body repair shop. Your van’s floor is the surface most susceptible to wear, so reinforcing it definitely reduces the risk of rust!

The left of the Sprinter: a modular and versatile arrangement

When space is at a premium, as it is in all vans, it’s essential to make the most of it.

The left of this Sprinter for servicing waste treatment plant has been laid out as a storage area, with various racking elements combined to achieve maximum versatility.

Starting at the bottom, we have a floor-level compartment over the wheel arch with a lift-up door and a forward compartment equipped with a shuttle-type case transport kit.

Higher up over the wheel arch are two plain shelves enclosed by a combination of two doors: lift-up at the top and lift-and-rotate at the bottom. The rest of the space is occupied by five configurable shelves. One of these has been left open while all the others are fitted with top-pivot doors. A full-length top tray for long items completes this racking configuration.

A number of accessories have been added to complete the equipment on this side of the van. Two slider bars with anti-scratch rubber profiles are fixed to the front of the racking; a bar rack with metal flange and strap is mounted on the rear-facing side panel; and two cable holders are also provided, one near the rear doors, the other on the side panel facing the bulkhead.

Everything within sight on the right of the Sprinter

The right wall is fitted out as the Sprinter’s workshop area and features:

  • a floor-level compartment with a bottom panel at the front, housing a Delta 2 Ecoflow power station with cooling fan and alternator-type battery charger
  • two columns containing a total of 10 metal drawers
  • a marble-look plywood work bench with a raised rear edge to stop items falling down behind
  • a fold-away bench with vice fixed to the side panel where it can be used from the ground outside the van
  • Multibox cabinets with 18 removable, tilting, transparent containers
  • a fire extinguisher holder on the forward-facing side panel

The hidden potential of the Sprinter’s bulkhead

The bulkhead is an area of great potential. While some customers choose to install racking here in order to leave the side walls free, most prefer to equip it with accessories, especially ones for securing cargo. Being accessible through the sliding side door, the area is ideal for stowing large loads or equipment.

In this Sprinter the bulkhead is fitted with a Syncroblock slider bar with hooks and lashing strap and, higher up, a cable holder and paper roll holder.
